Something Stuck In Throat

I saw my sis-in-law, a nurse, turn her child upside down and and whack the child's back. But the child was still small enough to turn upside down.

I also saw this same sis-in-law follow my father when he quietly got up from the dinner table and go out of the room. She realized he was in trouble with food stuck in his throat.

Good lady to have around!

Thank you for asking. Yes, she sorted out both patients. Taught me a couple of lessons: 1, properly chew small amounts of food especially. for some reasom or other, spinach and cabbage (!) and 2, be aware that someone who gets up from the table and does't look relaxed/comfortable/cheerful might be having a problem.
