I like the UN Irish pub too. Made fresh daily, and IMHO deserving of support more than Big C or Carrefour.

I was just at UN Irish Pub today and the breads and croissants looked (and SMELLED) fantastic. Also, you might try

Pie Sabai next to Wat Umong not far from CMU. Their bakery seems pretty good too, although the service at the cafe is quite poor.

When in Airport Plaza go to the bottom floor, close to the back entrance, where the aquarium is. Look for the Yakazuma(?) bakery, there is usually a fine selection of bread in there.

and opposite Airport Plaza and up a slip road from the city just a little bit the new Rimping supermarket has a good selection of bread.
