Moustaches - Beards And Thai Men

Featured Replies

My personal observations throughout the years tell me that Moustaches and Beards are not so common amongst Thai men.

The only men, having a moustache and/or beard were mostly local fishermen and also in the southern regions of Thailand and Muslim villages.

Is that correct or am I mistaken ? :o

You are correct.

The stick on moustaches used on the prime soaps are ridiculously obvious.

Correct I guess; I saw one or the other Thai guy with long hair and moustache/beard in Bangkok sometimes, but they might have been Muslims too. Otherwise quite few with facial hair.

probably the reason that the barbers are hopeless when it comes to a trim, I have been going to the same shop for years and have a different style everytime I come out, I am now on Ian Botham after a bad night out but went in as Charles 1st!

Not common because the only men, having a moustache and/or beard are the ones having patience to grow it.

When some of my friends want to grow it, it seem to take them forever.

They seem to be de rigeur on many of the Thai musicians, especially long goatees, and pony tails. I agree apart from that and as mentioned above, not too common.

Lack of facial hair makes it easier for Thai men to look like Thai women. :D

Mind you, I've seen quite a few Thai women with more than a hint of a moustache. :o:D:D
