Silk Sleepingbag Liner

Featured Replies

I start my trip in Chiang Mai where I want to buy a silk sleepingbag liner as they are expensive in Europe. Can anyone give me a good address?

Many thanks,

Marianne

Coincidentally, i've just been at The Sunday Market and saw a stall with silk sleeping bags (which propably would be what you call a liner considered it's smallness).

If you hurry up you might get one before the market closes - the stall is inside Wat Pan On (corner of Ratchadamnern and Ratchapakinai) - about the middle of the Southern-most side.

They have them in a couple of the shops on the road (Gong Lo Joh) behind the day market (Warorot)

I bought some a week or two ago from a shop on that road, about six shops towards Tha Pae Rd from the Nepalese shop (called "Thamel"). The sleeping bags are on a table on the pavement outside the shop, in 4" bags.

There are real silk & Thai silk ones. I understand the Thai silk ones are rayon. They're certainly cheaper & feel a bit thicker.

If buying more than one, they give a pretty fair discount.
