Double Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I'm an American (under 50) with a double entry tourist visa. I've already stayed 60 days and got my 30 day extension 20 days ago. So my 60+30 days will end Nov 28th.

I've been hearing conflicting info and hope someone here can clarify things for me.

Some people tell me that all I have to do now is a quick border run and when I re-enter Thailand I'll get another 60 days as my second entry (which I'll be able to extend by 30).

Other people have recently told me that now I need to go to a Thai embassy/consulate in another country and apply for a new tourist visa if I wish to stay an additional 60+30 days.

Which is it?

thanx.

Provided your visa is still valid for entry ( some are valid for 6 months from the date of issue and some only 3 months) then all you have to do is exit and re-enter, you will get 60 days which you can later extend by another 30 days. Do not confuse the validity of the visa with the current permission to stay stamp.

As said above - all entries must be made before the visa expires or they are lost.

OK, ENTER BEFORE date is Jan 3, 2008.

Do I go to the border and get an additional 60+30 (like Mahout said)? Or will they say that I only get ~35 days (until Jan 3rd)?

You will get 60 days that you can extend at immigration.

Just a quick update. I did a border run today and my visa is now good for another 60 days, until Jan 28th. Thanks again.
