Would you like my tax code and work permit number as well?

Is this BKK Barney a journalist or maybe an undercover cop or something. Too many questions for my liking.

erm, nope, i am not u howard thats for sure,

howard, so ok we realised u made a little white lie about ur membership to the flb forum, but its a tiny little lie that will never affect anybody else so it is forgiveable, but wot about the big lies? are there any of them?if a person is willing to do the little white fibs is he willing to do the big black nasty fibs?

i got to admit to the little tiny white lies on occasion, normally when i tell the gals that i only got 400baht on me and would that be enough for a short time? but the big lies i dont do. do you do the big lies aswell howard??

hmmm , it seems we may have found ur first lie howard, in this woven web of intrigue, now shall i check when the flb forum started and when u first moved to thai, or would u rather say that u misunderstood the question, wot user name did u use in flb b4 u was htv? would u tell us?

can i ask you what is your problem with the flb board all the times? there are more then only howard on the flb board who live in thailand permanently and the bullshit some people are telling here about only with a real email address and no hotmail - and only with a proxy - i had a good laugh about that too - these people are also lying, so let's question them for a while - the TPV thing is getting a bit boring allready.

Howard has his motives, even though I do not agree (and never did) - i certainly can respect his opinion and motives (basically, as I said, the TPV could do a real ###### of a job preventing fellow farangs from ending up robbed, scamed (also by fellow farangs) or ending up in a Klong without their head).

I gave howard a hard time allready with a load of questions on another board, in the meantime, I found some answers through my father in law who is an army officer and has some friends in the police headquaters, I was surprised that Howard was telling the truth on most issues but i certainly have no problem to see the error of my ways. I also think that we all have our own bad sides, so let's give him a break, I guess his intention when he joined the TPV was not to cause any harm but to do something positive insted of being pissed every other day like many who read this board.

cheers

PS: howard does not use the username htp or howard_the_volunteer at the flb board. and I must also say that the flb board is not a "very rude board" as some people have described it here.

the flb main board is members only and both u and i know it would be banned by cat if they found it, talking about wot thai whore is a good shag is probably considered a nono by cat, also the photo gallery would be considered porn, yes i know we have to pay, as we both know the forum was said by howard that he joined b4 he moved to thai, the domain was registered at the end of 1999 the forum was set up when? when did howard move here? so we have his first lie on this board, how many more lies will we get from young howard?i have nothing against the flb forum apart from howards lies which i am using as an example of how he is willing to lie to fellow farangs and posters, where will it end?

You have to admit Howard has been pretty open and no reason not

believe he is any different than most of us. He choose to help out around the community in a good way. He is getting the rash of sh*t for others that do what he does but we need to look at Howard individually.

I know others that do what he does that are less than honest but we cannot blame Howard for others.

As mentioned in this topic earlier- The FLB forum,

Not bad (i know the manager of FLB :D ) i joined it just to have a look and see what our members are up to, Anyway they have a members forum which you have to join via an e mail address from outside the LOS, Did this and I'm in.

I suppose the point i'm making is, I love pattaya, my wife, my life, business everything, but the members in this private members forum !!, well they must be the guys that get slagged off on here, now i know why some members slag off pattaya's male holidaymakers.

They also talk alot about Tourist Police Volunteers, please don't tell me the volunteers are all members of this private forum? We are all doomed. :o

I've made one post in the normal forum which does state no bg/thailand abuse (good job) and will continue to look at it, as for the other one, i'm tempted to troll on there and abuse everyone, although i'm not going to waste my loxinfo minutes :D

This confirms my theory on what a great, clean, respectful (sometimes) :D forum Thai Visa is.

Good Work. :D

howard howard, u promised us.

Tourist Police confiscate sex cd’s and counterfeit goods.

Two cases now from the Pattaya Tourist Police Division.

The Tourist Police Officers and Volunteers who are stationed on Walking Street. Police Captain Chirawat was made aware of a man selling counterfeit branded items on Pattaya Second Road near the entrance to Soi Pattayaland 3. Khun Boonom aged 22 was detained whilst officers searched the market stall and found over 400 individual counterfeit items such as Adidas socks and Levi Baseball hats. Every counterfeit item was taken to the Tourist Police Mobile unit on Walking Street and the man was then transferred to Pattaya Police Station where he was formally charged with a variety of copyright offences.

]ok howard so it werent u that set up this sting but one of your brave fellow working farangs volunteers, but h.ell they soon sorted out that nasty dangerous thai guy selling fake adidas socks, now if u could only set up a sting for all the fake rolex watch sellers then maybe i could sell my real ones.

howard u know wot farangs want, u used to be considered a farang untill u turned, we want safe streets, thats it, be all and end all, we dont care about jade bar which maybe doing short times, unlike ur fellow volunteers, we dont care about some fake socks or fake caps, ALL FARANGS WANT HERE IS SAFETY, they dont care if some gal is exposing her breasts in some private bar, but howard, ur lot do care more about the exposed breasts than the safety of tourists, howard i realise that u do not speak thai to a reasonable degree, but cant u see the situation u r in??

Howard,

bkk barney has a point. Most people would be positive about the farang TPV's if they were seen to be doing something and not strutting around WS looking rather full of their self importance. I was out last night and saw you and your partner, and Niels and his partner walking around. Of course you will not be fighting crime all the time, and acting as a deterant is as important. But, do something.

I realise that you personally have no control on what others get up to or do. But as the oldest farang TPV you will have some sway on the powers that be. Talk to them about the general feeling here, and elsewhere I will say, about the work you guys do, and see if they can utilise your services in a more positive way.

Then I believe 90% of the stuff written here will disappear. Nicking flower sellers and photographers does nothing to protect the tourist or expat or helping with your image.

Captain Chirawat was made aware ........

Does not say 'an undercover farang police volunteer named HTV set up ...... '

You seem to have a personal agenda BKK Barney. Don't make an even bigger fool of yourself than the Good Lord intended. No one (except your other aliases) is on your side.

WCR,

OK lets remind people that you were a Tourist Police Volunteer for a short time before you quit as you found it too boring. Understandable becasue you are an ex-cop from the UK and your comment regarding "Fighting crime" clearly indicates the reasons behind you wanting to Volunteer. They are the wrong reasons, we are not Policemen.

I am getting sick of people analysing our every move and guessing what we are doing. So once again I will explain our actions on Saturday night. The reason we were strutting around and looked a bit serious because we were looking for a man from Finland who was causing trouble in every bar he was going into. He was thrown out of Tony's and left an unpaid bar bill in an opposite beer bar. He was very drunk and we were told that he had just been punched in the face by a Thai man. We were urgently looking for him to get him off of Walking Street and back to his hotel before he was more seriously hurt. WCR, I saw you sitting in the beer bar outside Living Dolls with your friend and saw how you were avoiding eye contact with me. Dot be shy, if you have a problem, come and speak to me.

They are the wrong reasons, we are not Policemen.

Then why are you called Tourist POLICE Volunteers?

If you want to help tourists, then be a tourist assistant and place yourselves away from the police van. This is not the case Howard. You are POLICE volunteers, the title says it all. My reasons for wanting to join initially were (in my opinion) the right reasons. To assist tourists or expats in trouble, to assist the T.P if I could with the work they do, within my own comfort zone. i.e, not nicking flower sellers or undercover filming in gogo bars. Yes to, setting up the ladyboys, motorbike thieves etc if properly done and supervised.

This isn't your idea of what the role is I know. I am at a loss why you are in this marriage in the first place, it doesn't seem to sit to well with you.

I do not have a problem with you, and I did look at you, I saw you, and I didn't avoid eye contact, you didn't appear to be looking in my direction. I wasn't going to stare at you... its rude to :o

Perhaps it would be an idea for you to set up a tourist help point. Something that is not a Police function. Just a point to assist tourists with the "where is " questions, to give out leaflets and to direct to the T.P for more serious matters. This sounds to me more in line to what you have in your heart.

howard, i have nothing against u personally, but as u r the most high profile of the tourist volunteers, then obviously ppl will aim there questions and accusations against u, as i have been doing.

now a perfect example of downright dangerous thai crime against farangs and thais is the motor bike drive by snatchings of necklaces, now ok i have been here a long time but dont know that many ppl, but i have 10 personal friends thai and farang that in the last 12 months have had motorbikes drive along next to them, the pillion passenger has grabbed their necklaces and kicked erm off their motorbikes, one victim was a gal with her young son, yes they both ended up in hospital, 8 of the victims didnt bother reporting the theft, only one victim didnt need hospital treatment. now to mind this is attempted murder when u get kicked off ur motorbike while driving along, one guy is still going to the hospital daily from his attack 2 months ago, but h.ell just give them flower sellers h.ell and put a stop to them, maybe selling flowers is just a cover for selling fake goods...

HTV- keep up the good job, I think some of the latter don't realize the role you lot play! I'd have to agree with Dave..more good could be done if a late night presence is made on Walking Street/Beach Road.

Far as the beggars- they are a nuiance and need to be dealt with but I wouldnt call it top priority,

Pirated Goods- Waste of time IMO, doesnt seem to be any consistancy and more a PR move for the Police

Raiding Go Go Bars- not sure I get that either, seems they are rather choosey where they pick to raid. Quite obvious you see the same stuff in most of the Go Go's.

Anyways just a few comments and no worries you have support for the work you do.

There is probably allot here that I am missing but I am glad that there is someone there I can turn to if I need the help. I speak very limited Thai and having someone I can talk to in English would be a huge asset. I have been lucky enough to not need the help of the TVP, but it is good to know they are around.

AS for the FLB, I think it is a great bar and a great board. I have found for the most part that the members are very friendly and helpful.

Howard keep up the good work.

Just wondering.

Do the Volunteers speak good / fluent Thai?

If someone claims that their main reason for being there is to act as an intermediary between the Thai speaking Police and the non-Thai speaking tourist they should be able to translate effectively between the two. If they DON't speak good Thai then they are simply imposing another person in the communications loop - which will surely only lead to more confusion?

On the other hand of course if they are only there to set up sad "sting" operations on Bars and Bargirls then they don't need to speak good Thai.

Maybe we can use this to define which Volunteers are there for what reason? Good Thai = Volunteer genuinely trying to be helpful, no Thai (or bad Thai) = police stooge.

I've just seen on the news - Tourist Police and Volunteers go to Sattahip for parachute training, :D

The reporter states that it will hopefully aid the police volunteers to help the tourist that come to Pattaya. :o

Apparently they now have their wings. :D

<deleted> has parachute jump training got to do with helping tourists?

How the <deleted> can this be of any use?

:D:D

Quicker response times....??

They can be dropped right into any "hot spots" on walking street.... especially at peak times... it means they won't have to stop and harrass any flower sellers/trinket sellers on their way to a "shout" -_-

totster :D

so howard got his wings lol.

following on from a previous posters post, p brownstone i believe, so howard we all know u can speak english and we all know u cannot speak thai adequately, so we therefor have to assume that u speak languages that the tourist police dont, hmmmm so which languages are they howard that make u such a benifit for the thai police? becos they wouldnt employ u if u werent a benifit to them would they.well unless u was a grass i suppose, so howard hit us with some languages that u can speak, we are awaiting ur reply in anticipation. :o

up2u im sure i replied to this b4.

anyway for them to nik the evil seller of fake goods they would have to purchase an item with marked money, now would captain somchai in his uniform who supposedly stumbled across this stall that has been there probably for years purchase the items with marked notes, or did he send a whiteboy down there to do it??
