This supposedly happened in Memphis, Tennessee.

As a man who was leaving his parking space, he dented the rear fender of the car next to his. Several witnesses observed as the man got out of his car and surveyed the damage he had caused. The witnesses got a warm feeling when the man took out a pencil and paper, worte a note and stuck it under the windshield wiper of the damaged car. He then got back into his own car and drove away.

When the owner of the damaged car returned, he saw the damage to his vehicle and the note on his windshield. He removed the note and read it. It went like this. I am sorry that I damaged your car. There are several witnesses watching me as I write this note. They think that I am wrting down my name, address and phone number, BUT I'M NOT!
