Hi,

I am a french citizen and currently living inThailand on a non-imm B visa, but my income does not run the celling so I need to go abroad to renew it (what I'd like to avoid).

I will get married (next year) with my thai girl friend and wonder what are the document needed to get a non-imm O visa (assumimg that our income will reach the 40K). Is it the "thai mariage certificate" sufficient to get it (means only need to register at the the local amphur) ? At the Amphur city hall, what are the document required ?

Thanks for your help

There is no marriage visa but you can visit using a non immigrant O visa for up to 90 days at a time and that visa normally requires a copy of your marriage certificate and of Thai ID card. If you have 40k monthly income you can extend a 90 day entry for a period of one year with payment of 1,900 baht for TM.7 form and you make that application with spouse at an immigration office with 3 or 4 weeks remaining on your 90 day permitted to stay stamp. It is normally under review for a period of 30 days before being fully approved. This requires a good bit of paperwork be presented as well as income proof.

To get married, if you don't know, will require a paper from your Embassy that is translated into Thai and registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before you visit a district office to register the actual marriage.
