Tourist Visa 'used' Stamp

Featured Replies

Last week I obtained a double-entry tourist visa from Vientiane. I then entered Thailand at the friendship bridge at Nong Khai using the first entry. I notice however that as well as giving me the entry stamp for 60 days and stamping the date of entry on the actual visa they also stamped 'used' on the visa.

Will I still be ok to use the second entry when the first one has finished or is my visa now finished after just the one entry?

Sounds as though they made a mistake. You really should check your passport when it is stamped and given back to you.

I would go to the local immigration office and ask them to change it.

If I am wrong maybe someone can post their views.

Are you sure they did not mark it "used" with the number "1"? That I believe would be a normal marking for the first entry.

No, just the word 'used' and the date of entry. I'm usually pretty careful about checking things at the time but this time I only checked the entry stamp was for 60 days and didn't look at the visa which is on a different page.

I used to have a triple tourist visa, quite recently. (Now I'm on a non imm.) The correct answer is:

They write a number, for example 1, in a circle when one entry is used. Next to that is the date for entry stamped.

When the visa is completely used up, THEN the stamp "Used" will appear, NOT before that.

Conclusion:

They made a mistake in your case, you should have this rectified a.s.a.p.

They also stamped "used" on my double entry TV.

could it more than a mistake ?

I'll pay a visit to my local immigration sometime over the next few days and let you know what they say.

Went to immigration in Nan today. The guy there said they'd made a mistake and I shouldn't have any problems using the second entry. I'll be prepared when I do go to the border though and make sure I'm ok for a visa exempt.
