Featured Replies

Just bought an old landrover safari. Anyone got any idea if I can get hold of spares, body parts here.

Cheers

1. Club Land Rover Magazine Thailand - a very good magazine as there's loads of tech drawings, repair tips, dealers, repair shops, trip advice, great photos, etc.

We found the magazine at different magazine shops on a couple of occasions. Don't recall the shops' names, but looking at the editor's page of one of the magazines, they have

email: [email protected]

tel: 09-312-3196

If you contact them, they could probably tell you specifically which outlets they are carried in. It costs 70 baht.

2. The Thailand Land Rover Club -

www.thailandroverclub.com

Good source of all info on all sorts of Land Rovers. It's also a social group with outings, convoy trips, etc.

3. For spare parts:

Limrungruang Kolakarn, Ltd.

18-22 Soi Chalermket 2

Chalermket 2 Road

Watthapsirin, Pomprabsatrupai

Bangkok 10100

tel: 02-621-6285, 02-621-5423

fax: 02-225-9096

We found about them from looking at their magazine ad and called them up with a parts list... and when they confirmed they had every one of them in stock and their prices, we went there. Overall, it was a good experience. Fair priced and a wide variety of inventory.

Thanks for the info SJ. I'm in two minds whether to rebuild it to it's original condition or build a pure offroader.

Forget the nostalgia trip man. Ok rebuilding it into something you can drive but building it back to original ? you would regret it the first time you came to a hill or drove on anything that wassent as smooth as a pool table.

A bit of work with a few Jap part’s and you will have a classic that look’s the part and is fun to drive.

The first thing we did when we re-built ours was replaced the seats with 4 comfortable bucket seats. :o

*edit*... excuse me, that was second. First was putting in a reliable Isuzu diesel engine.

Been doing just fine for 35 years....it'll probably outlast cars sold brand new at 10:00 this morning... :o
