Me and my famely will go to Surin in January, we been booked into Surin Majestetic with the help of Farrangconnection, but I've been thinking a little about it since we got a little child with us, would it be better to rent a apartment, and is it possible to rent apartments close to the center of the city. It look like we are going to stay in Surin for 4 weeks. If so it need to have real madrasses and not the backbreaking thai style and some cooking oppertuneties. Sorry for the creative english, been to lazy to learn it proper.

I think he meant mattrasses.

I don't think there will be a problem with the beds in the majestic hotel. However if you want to rent an apartment in the city on a short term let you might be better off asking Martin at the Farang Connection if he has anywhere available. Although most places that meet your requirements to rent are slightly outside the city.

I had an excellent ruby last weekend. Coriander chicken with hard boiled eggs, Bombay potatoes and aromatic yellow rice. Although the Thais considered it a bit spicy.

Had to make it myself, of course.

Try Grand Apartments by Surin Hospital on Thanon Saboran (Saboran Street). Decent single room abodes and nice open air lobby. Majestic also has longterm rentals available. Good luck.

AVOID Grand apartments like the plague, unless you like to be ripped off. This is speaking from personal experience.Reports on Majestic apartments are all good.

I agree with geaussie. I've heard of three or four people being ripped off there. It may be OK if you're only staying for a day or two but definitely don't leave a deposit.

Grand Apartments is also not very close to the centre of town.

Not long now, I am sure. I have been the last 2 weeks in Surin and had a great time. All from the Number 2 Breakfast at Martin's Pub, to all the other interesting things happening around town.

Although my family comes from Surin, the more I travel there, the more I enjoy it. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Not long, only one week before we go, it takes takes about 27 hours total to travel there. I got alot of response of some places i go online, and everything is more nice than the weather here. To day we have heavy snow falls, we got about 10 cm the last hour and its going to be worse the week ahead. I booked trough the pak jai that advertise here, and he seems like a nice fella even he's a f*t g*t. I'm not sure what f*t g*t means, but i might be someone dyslectic trying to write fat goat? :D And if he's not nice i bring a baseballbat. :o

Hallo Drowsy

If you plan to travel a little around, maybe visit Khao Phra Wihan, I'm not far away.

FC Martin can give you more details if you're interested. :o

And 2day it's cold even here, 15 degrees this morning - where is my fleece jacket? :D

Hi there, I already have your homepage, and I might come to visit You, even that your not really a Norwegian.

And to the other that did not understand this, Bergen is a German town in Norway, their not really Norwegians their heritage is Germany, even the town brewery has a German name Hansa. Another fun history about people from Bergen: A few years ago I had a visa run to the Malaysian island Penang ( old English colony Georgetown), that time when you wanted a multi entry visa it usually took almost a week before the hard working thai embassy working men and women manage to do the visa. We had a nice week only interrupted when my wife wanted to try indian food there, ( after this i always refer her ass as the Niagra falls). We wnet one evening after a taxi drivers advise to a restaurant, before we was there I heard a load voice shouting "Heia Braaaan" ( to translate this brann means FIRE, but in the German town in Norway its also is the local monkeymontain (soccer club)) several time. I told my wife that was someone from Bergen that shouting this. When we arrived where this nasy sound come from we see 3 Chinese looking person carrying the garbage out and dropping him on the street. My gentle wife told me we got to help him, but since he's not a real Norwegian i protest . We go into the restaurant and for fun i looked at the gutter where the garbage was placed, after about 30 minuts we heard like snake whispered "heia Braaaaan". :-P

anywhere but the grand apartments unless u like to get ripped off and like watching all the kept woman during the day and hearing them at night,

It might be a good idea to keep away from mile place apartments also. As surinmike, sometimes stays there, next door to Ken, on a friday night.
