Accident British Rider Wheelies into Woman, Prompting Vigilante Attack
Picture courtesy of Pattaya Rescue Pattaya police are investigating a late-night road collision involving a British man on an electric off road bike who allegedly caused injury to a local woman before being assaulted by angry bystanders. The incident occurred at around 23.05 on 14 August in Soi Bongkot 8, Pattaya, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and officers from Pattaya City Police rushed to the scene. They found a pink Honda Scoopy i motorcycle, registration from Chonburi, lying damaged in the middle of the road. Its rider, 49-year-old Ms Jurairat Petcharaksa, had sustained a head wound and multiple abrasions. Rescue personnel performed first aid at the scene, before taking her to hospital. The other vehicle involved was an electric off road bike ridden by a young, unnamed British national. Witnesses told police the man had been performing continuous wheelies along the road, narrowly missing pedestrians, before colliding with Ms Jurairat, who had been riding normally. Bystanders claimed the British rider attempted to blame the victim, sparking anger among onlookers. Several members of the public allegedly attacked him, leaving him injured before police intervened to restore order. Police say CCTV footage from nearby cameras will be reviewed to determine the exact cause of the accident. Investigators have stressed that all parties will be treated fairly as the case proceeds. Thai - Cambodia Conflict Thai Army Keeps Border Checkpoints with Cambodia Closed
Picture courtesy of Thai PBS World The Thai army is holding its position and keeping border checkpoints with Cambodia closed. Commanding the Second Army Region, Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang stated today that Thai troops will remain at the 11 strategic locations they seized during recent clashes with Cambodian forces from July 24 to 28. Key sites under Thai control include Phu Makua, the ancient Ta Muen Thom temple, and Preah Vihear. Lt Gen Boonsin announced plans to discuss landmine issues at the upcoming Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting in Malaysia. The Thai and Cambodian RBC secretariats have scheduled preliminary talks to ensure smooth discussions at the official meeting later this month. Amidst ceasefire negotiations in Kuala Lumpur, Cambodia dismissed Thailand’s request for landmine cooperation and efforts to combat online scams originating from the country. In a recent diplomatic move, Thailand sent protest notes to the United Nations. These accusative notes claim Cambodia's violation of the Ottawa Convention through the deployment of anti-personnel landmines, posing a significant danger to Thai soldiers along the border, reported Thai PBS World. Lt Gen Boonsin emphasised the ongoing need for Thai troop patrols to safeguard territorial sovereignty. He highlighted the use of heavy machinery in patrol operations for enhanced safety. With his retirement expected at the end of September, Boonsin expressed confidence in his successor's capability to continue border defence effectively. His leadership style throughout the border dispute, marked by firmness and decisiveness, has earned him considerable acclaim. Despite calls for an extension of his tenure, Boonsin is set on completing his service term as scheduled, leaving a legacy of resilience in protecting national interests on the Cambodian frontier. Its Time to End the War
I agree wholeheartedly with the thread's heading and your final sentence - "Let's make a good deal for the world" - indeed, I'd argue that it is crucial. However, I couldn't disagree more with the statement from the article, "Whether a “good” or a “bad” peace deal emerges from Alaska makes little difference to Europe’s real priorities – as long as there is peace in the end": If Putin feels like he has got one over Trump - and the West - who knows what he may feel emboldened to do next. Incidentally, it is no surprise to find 'Brussels Signal' holding this view. After all, it's little more than Orban's mouthpiece and he, in turn, is effectively Putin's mole in the EU. -

How much should you pay a girl if you ask her to stop working?
Ten years ago I met her in a bar. She wanted to stop working and I wanted her exclusively. I asked her how much he made in an average month. She said 30,000 and I started providing it. Costs increased over the decade to 60,000 what with growing boys, and I also provided homes and cars, better schools, and medical expenses. She never asked. I wanted her and them to be well. I loved her (a motivation that has been ignored in much of this discussion). After we are married this winter I imagine our collective monthly expenses will increase further. At least I hope so. -

No inflation in the US- Winning. NOT?
You need to read more than headlines "Brown added that this data still implies inflation running ahead of the Fed's target, but a chunk of last month's rise in services inflation is due to higher costs for portfolio management, a function of the stock market's rally since reaching its April lows and something that "won't concern the FOMC," in Brown's view."
