I dont know of anyone that has had this 30 per cent held,scaremongering id say, just state what its for and ill bet it goes through no problem,

A quick call to your Thai bank before you make the transfer is a good idea too.

I has transferred over the 20k US before with no problems at all.

Quite. Just ensure that your transfer says, in the Comments-section, that the transfer is for the purchase of a house, ie not for investment in the stock-market, and you should have no problems.
