Blood A- And O- Needed Urgently

I just want to announce that our columnist, Dr Mike Miller, is in dire need of A- negative blood for emergency surgery at Phra Monkhut Hospital. His doctors cannot operate, however, until a supply of A-negative blood can be located. The Red Cross says that their stocks of A-negative and O-negative blood types are depleted, and no potential donors have come forward.

If you have blood type A- negative or O-negative and are willing to donate, please contact the Red Cross, phone numbers (02) 252 4166, (02) 251 3111, (02) 255 4211 and (gen number) (02) 263 9600.

Alternatively, you can copy my message and send to your friends. Even easier is to copy this link of my blog. Make sure it doesn't look like a spam.

Note: Dr Mike is our columnist on Health page. He writes Dr Mike Advice once a month and we've just learnt this news this afternoon.

What, in particular, makes you sceptical, Dr Patpong ?

Might it not be better to give him the benefit of the doubt ? Won't hurt anyone if people donate blood but might seriously affect the man's chances if they don't.

A quick call to the hospital would clear it up.

We live in CM. My wife has a condition that requires a blood transfusion every 7-8 weeks. One of the first things we looked in to is if there will be adequate type blood for her. Here's what I was told by the Red Cross here in CM. They are NEVER short of blood. If their supply gets low, they call upon the military services and they supply the red cross with the blood they need.

Check with another Red Cross station in Bangkok and see what they say.
