Rayne Off Pattaya Tv

LL, I’m not sure if your remarks are tongue in cheek, but who cares. It’s just my opinion, but Rein (I think that’s how it’s spelt) is so refreshing when you compare her with the other faces and certainly the voices on Pattaya TV. Of course we could do with out the bubbles that float behind her during introductions that were used in the late 1980's, and I wish someone would tell her Hua Hin is not pronounced Hooo Ar Hin, but I like her very much, especially her reports from overseas.

But the person who really stands out on ‘Pattaya Plus’ is Rod McNeal. What a talent and so professional. If Pattaya Mail TV and Pattaya People TV and that other news channel really want a news reader, this chap has all the credentials.

Just my opinion of course.

whats the story with Rayne (sp?) off Pattaya mail TV?

Is she an ex-actress/model?

I'll wager she was stunning when she was in her 20s

and what splendid bosoms

total agreement LL , met her a few times shes lovely a real down to earth lass (a former teacher b4 tv.) Dont know about in her 20s but shes all reet now and yes they are mighty fine.

Never met her but change channel when she comes on. Can't stand her or her programme.

Same here. Her monotonous, droning voice does my head in.

Ditto. What a pain. I'd rather see Howard presenting in drag using his well worn echo chamber, at least then I'd have a laugh. But each to their own.

she's a beaut

Is Rod the little chap who looks a little bit toad-like? (no disrespect - love his work)

Whichever one who was interviewing that Frankfurt techno DJ the other night was hilarious. You could see he was struggling to suppress a yawn.

PMTV didn't even get the BLEEP in sync when the bald DJ said '...F****d up..'

sweet.

LL, i also saw that segment and thought it was a hoot. For mine, terrific television, especially for LOS.

But it wasn't Rod. Rod McNeal (it may be McNeil) often presents a sement on Pattaya Today. He has a superb voice, asks interesting questions, appears to research the subject matter, and who ever edits his segments uses lots of overlay footage rather than talking heads.

As for Howard, I much prefer him to several others on Pattaya TV. For mine he has a pleasant voice but I find his inflections are strange, even irritataing, as he usally ends a sentence on a rising note rather than a falling tone. It is simply unatural.

But I have to say he seems to work hard and is having a go, so I respect him for that.

Edit PS: My spelling is awful and here I am knocking others. Sorry.

Sorry about that....for 16 years I was a DJ (Radio and Party DJ) and I guess I just can't shake it off. :o

What a pleasant surprise to find a polite and positive response from someone who is under attack. More brownie points for you Howard.

It's funny though, because I was going to say in my last post that you were probably once a professional DJ. The traits I spoke about are not easy to get over. However, I know you can do it because I recently heard you do a soft sell voice over for a commercial on TV and the inflections were perfect.

But don't be concerned H. When I started out as a DJ ** years ago I tried to ape all the top DJ's of the time. What a shemozzle, until one day I realized I was at last being me and I never looked back, but not in radio, which I have to say has always been my first love.

Again, in my humble opinion, I believe Pattaya now has two very good radio stations and long over due. The only problem is the reception. If both stations can fix this technicality then we will have a choice of two very professional music stations and Pattaya expatriates will be the richer.

And I guess it's time I came clean about my previous remarks about Rod McNeal or McNeil. For years he was the breakfast announcer on Australia's ABC national radio. He then switched to reading television news on Channel 10 in Melbourne, Australia and is still remembered as being one of the best.

I was aware that he had relocated to Thailand and about six months ago I was surprised, but very pleased, to see he had made the transition to be an on the road reporter with Pattaya Plus. So Rod has done the full circle, and believe me, that is not easy.

PS: I assume your handle HM1973 relates to the year you were born. Now I am really envious, but if I am right and you were a DJ, then you should remember sloopy?

I have to take my hat off to Howard for another reason. Usually you think of him as a cuddly media guy, and we all know the stick the TPV sometimes takes, but last night I saw him looking hard in two situations on Walking Street where there had been an incident, one where it looked like a tourist had pinched a girl's bum, and one where a really drunk guy was having problems, and I thought - see, it's not all sitting at the table up the top of Walking Street by the van having a nice chat. Sometimes these guys have to put themselves in harm's way, especially at this time of year.

(I'm not stalking him, honest).....
