What Type Of Vaccin Do Baby Get In Thailand?

Hello!

My name is patrik and i live in sweden,so does my girlfriend and her baby.

They are from thailand.

She is 9 years old and started school 2 weeks ago and today i got a paper from schooldoctor .

they want to know what type of vaccin she have taken and when.

my girlfriend gets little bit confussed and say that she not sure what vaccin doctor have given her little girl

i try to ask her if she have taken polio and she say yes.

but when i ask TBC she dont know

she only know that she have given her vaccin 2 times .close after birth and just 1 year ago.

Is there anyone who knows what type of vaccin they give baby in thailand?

i have a list of these......and i dont know if this is internationell terms but i trie.

PPD,BCG ,polio.TBC.

i don't know about all hospitals in thailand but will give you the immunization program at phyathai1 in bangkok

new born BCC, HBV 1

1 month HBV 2

2 months POLIO 1, DPT 1, HIB 1

4 months POLIO 2, DPT 2, HIB 2

6 months POLIO 3, DPT 3, HBV 3, HIB 3

9 months MMR 1

1 year JEV 1, JEV 2 (1 to 4 week interval)

1 year 6 months POLIO 4, DPT 4

2 years JEV 3

3 years HAV 1, HAV 2 (6 to 12 month interval), VARICELLA

4 to 5 years POLIO 5, DPT 5

5 to 6 years MMR 2, JEV 4

Jag kan hjälpa dig med att översätta namnen på de olika vaccinationerna från svenska till engelska och thailändska, och tvärtom, om du vill. Jag vet tyvärr inte om det finns någon standardpraxis för vaccinationer i Thailand, men gissar att det kan variera.

Om ni inte kan få fram uppgifterna rekommenderar jag att ni ger barnet alla de vaccinationer som inte innebär en risk vid omvaccination - det är förmodligen vad läkaren i Sverige kommer att rekommendera också.

Om din flickvän kommer ihåg vilket sjukhus barnen vaccinerades på så bör de ha alla papper som behövs, och om din flickvän ringer så borde de kunna faxa detaljerna till er (det hjälper nog om ni betalar i förväg...). Jag ska höra efter med mina vänner om de vet hur det fungerar här i Thailand normalt.

huski, is that universal? our baby was born in a Phyathai hospital and I want to make sure she is well protected. My wife keeps teeling me whiler I am away that our baby goes to the hospital because "Doctor put something go inside, waxseen". But I do not have a list myself of what she is getting. I trust my wife fully but without understanding what is going on I am worried she is not getting the full compliment, any thoughts?

Our children were born at Bangkok Christian and there they give you a book that lists all the vaccines and when they are needed.

You then get the doctor to sign the book to show that it was done.

It is quite a good system.

Well it worked for us.

I would have thaught that the PTs had the same type of thing.

BTW: I should image it will be really difficult to get records from hospitals in Thailand. Anyway give it a try. But you have to take the babies to the hospital/clinic yourself. No controls or checks.

Although we did get a letter from Yada's school saying they were going to give free polio and DTP shoot. She had already had them. So may be the girl had it a school?

I have been vaccinated for every conceivable disease according to the usual practice, and so were all my friends, as this is government policy in Sweden. Of all the people I know, none of my peers have suffered from any problems due to vaccination. Nor are any of them autistic.

I have friends who are doctors, and sceptics by nature. A friend of mine does research for a major medical company. They would definitely not go around lying just for fun or to help their companies, because they are sincere people who care about the ethics involved in their work.

I have personal knowledge of the disgusting marketing techniques used by Major World Reknown Pharmaceutical Companies to get support and testimonials from medical doctors around the world. I believe that it is up to the parents to get the children vaccinated. Thus it tends to be a bit hit or miss. Thai government schools don't require evidence of vaccination for enrollment.

That would be my suggestion in such event also. I doubt that many vaccinations carry much risk from having them done a second and perhaps unnecessary time. You will have reliable records then, too.

Just give the Swedish doc the name and phone no or fax no of the Thai hospital. If they receive a request they will fax over the medical records. This is a standard routine issue for medical records departments - my son's US doctor got all his Thai medical records faxed over within a day or so. More middle men just increases the risk of confusion.

Det är ett rutinärende för journalavdelningar att skicka journalutdrag - min sons amerikanske läkare begärde och fick omedelbart överskickat hela journalen från BKK. Eventuella översättningar osv blir pålitligare om det görs av sjukvårdspersonal och dessutom kan det finnas annan viktig information i journalen som går förlorad på vägen om mellanhänder är inblandade.
