I was curious if anyone has actually received a settlement check from the 336 million dollar class action suit to be paid to litigants who used master visa discover & other applicable cards issued. The people I have talked to in the U.S. have all said none yet. Anyone got any Real check form the class action. On the back where you sign your check will be the release of liability needed to receive payment. They make a point of your releasing your interest in the claimed check. so you will know for sure. I have been in 3 & it took Goodyear (in the Goodyear 500 sreies Tire debacle almost 2 years to pay up on 3 tires & was required to sign the release(built into the endorsement on the back of the check) & the other was the Firestone tire recall in 2004 & on (that only took 3 months and it was the same (built in endorsement on the back of the check ) as well as several other documents to release Fords liability as well. Toyota had a entire recall on their exhaust systems in 1980. they replaced every nut & bolt In 1986 in the exhaust (header to tailpipe clamp.I had to sign a stack of releases as well.as I purchased it as a second owner. so you will easily remember sign the release! I am glad it is back to about 1%( I think as it is hard to tell the exchange rate & commissions tagged in ) instead of the outrageous % in the past.

Have to say that none of my friends receive any settlement check yet.

They all re-acted the same as you put it in early post.

Your quoted....."If it's an American check I would be astonished if you were the first man from Australia to receive a check from America that hasn't started issuance..."

Most friends are still in the infantine state for preparing for the claim. Some have not decided which options :1-2-3. But they all have hoped they would have a little part from this windfall.
