picture of the flower or my husband's?? I think he is traumatized after I told him a posted all this info about his member, not to mention letting some friends and family members know...oops :o So I dont think there is any way he would let me take a picture...plus no, no I would not do that! But as I am assuming you want the flower pic. There is just no way I would ever want to get close enough that I could see it and further more never want to actually have that picture burned into my brain for all of eternity!! :D

Phimosis is just the medical term for a foreskin that is too tight and yes, circumcision is necessary.

Heed the others'advice re getting an experienced doctor (a urologist who has done many adult circumcisions) and, obviously, avoid the 1500 Baht bargain price (somehow I doubt there's much in the way of anesthesia inclkuded in that price....).

With an experienced doctor and as long as he follows carefully the instructions for after care, all will be fine.

He is a urologist, in a proper clinic. Didnt ask why it was 1500 or about anesthetic, good question though thanks Sheyrl. Will check on Monday. His cousin who married a Muslim women and had to convert had it done for 30 baht on a Muslim island at a public hospital. Said that was the normal going rate in Muslim areas. Perhaps it is not expensive because we live in a a relatively small city and he is Thai? I will try to get him to have a second opinion.

Hi Meme, had my done in my mid-30s due to phimosis (foreskin got too tight and started splitting during sex - ouch!). Best if you stay covered up for a couple of weeks afterwards - remember he's going to have some stitches in there which, I can assure you, he wont want to stretch. Don't do what my flatmate did and leave a porno mag on the coffee table for me when I came home from the hospital!

He'll feel a bit tender for about 10 days or so. One piece of advice I can give is it's best for him to wear tight underwear to cut down on the amount of movement and rubbing. I was back in full working order about a month after the event so mark the date on your calendar :o

As for the poster who said it reduces sensation, all I can say is that mine has been greatly enhanced since I had the snip, if fact I wish I'd had it done years before....

Im circumisized and proud of it, not only do chicks dig it but i get laid more often, and im protected by 70% agaisnt any diseases or HIV/AIDS(and its cleaner and smells better. If you dont cut it just smells more often and your prone to any infection by 100% unless you wear a condom that might protect you by 65%. And there is no case study of less sensitivity.By the way this is technology were looking at here just like how peolpe get braces, or lasik surgery, theres a ton of benefits.

He was told not to wear jeans after the procedure so I guess he assumed no tight underwear, but now that I look back on it the main pain was from the movement. So guess your right, that would have helped. It's been about 3 weeks now and everything is healing nicely he did get a little surface skin infection but it has gone away. Now he is just counting down the days, still looks like it has a couple weeks to go :D Ah well dont want to rush these sorts of things! :D

Didn't notice the date on your previous postings so sorry I was a bit late with my mail yesterday. Glad to here everythings gone relatively well. It's a worry thinking about a doctor going near a guys favourite organ with a scalpel!

After a tip from his friend, who said that he read in a book that my husband's type of penis (just to clear the air, his best friend inserted some beads into the shaft of hubby's member a long way back...which is perhaps another topic in itself but for those who dont know it is a fairly common practice with Thai men, in the South at least. But I digress, anyway that is why his friend knows what hubby's buddy looks like) could develop cancer.

Sure enough he went to the doctor today and the doc said that he had come just in the nick of time and that he must have a circumcision as soon as possible.

Now because my husband lacks the medical terms in English and I was not at the doctors ,so I could not ask him, I dont know why he needs this. From what he has told me it has something to do with the foreskin on the head coming together or growing together....Now as far as I am concerned he has a normal looking un-circumsided penis, but then again I certainly dont consider myself an expert. :D

I found: Phimosis. after I googled. But it says that it comes from foreskin infection and he has never had an infection, at least to his or my knowledge. And includes swelling, again he has never experienced this either.

Well that is certainly more information then I ever thought I would share on a forum!

Anyway just thought someone out there might have an idea what this is about.

It only costs 1500 baht so I don't think the dr. is only trying to make money.

Also if any men out there have had this done as an adult, will my husband be laid up for a long time? The doctor said wear a saraong for one week, refrain from any 'fun' for 1 month but that was it.

Thanks in advance

:D Studies are showing that there is an increased link between uncircumcised men and infections and even cancer of the penis. it is becoming a common practice in many western countries to circumcise infants shortly after birth (unless there are religious reasons for it not being done).

Sanitation is the big problem....increased chance of infections and the risk that means to the chance of cancer. Also increases risk of HIV infection.

The procedure is relatively simple, and can be done as an outpatient (no hospital needed) and a local anasthetic. Recovery should be fast, but it might be painful at first, especially urinating at the beginning. Obviously, no sex until it is healed well enough to attempt it.

He may need to wear sarong or loose garments to avoid chafing from underwear on sore penis. That should't take more than a week, but different people heal faster or slower as their body determines.

Really, it is a simple procedure, can be done in the doctor's office.
