Getting Tourist Visa In Ottawa Or Thailand?

Featured Replies

I am renewing my passport and will get it back on Jan 14th. I plan to leave to Thailand on Jan 21th. The Royal Thai Embassy in Canada is located in Ottawa, about 8 hours car drive from here to get there. I wouldn't have time to request for Visa by post. When going to the embassy, how much time do they need to supply the tourist Visa?

Basically, what's the best option for me right now.

Thanks in advance

Hello If you are coming in person you can get it the next day, for a three month visa. If u are looking for a 30 day you can get it upon arrival,,,,,I live in ottawa and got my visa there many times and my kids thai passports.

anything else let me know...they are located on Islandpark drive and the pARKWAY.

Have you checked a local visa service company (tour agent?). A full week seems like enough time to do by courier. Otherwise you have next working day service but may only accept applications in morning (not sure of that). Third option is travel without visa but that would probably require you have a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of arrival (depends on airline). So if only spending a couple of weeks there is no need for a visa.
