Roi Et or Chum Phae?
There's not much at Chum Phae. Huge 8 lane trunk road passing through the middle (6+2+2). It just seems to be a place the pantechs travel through. There are many open air 'restaurants' but Isaan food can be much different than the Thai food available in the tourist areas. I saw the odd foreigner milling around at the big Lotus. The Cheewin Hotel and Conference Centre is comfortable, food average, but you have a place to go to you said. Don't know much about Roi Et. Went there once but I think Maha Sarakham nearby is probably better. -
