Hi,

Sorry if I put this question in the wrong thread. I'm a parent of a 13yo boy (Grade 8 (M2)) student at a bi-lingual school.

Our son is doing poorly in math (twice just passed and this recent mid-term test is almost certainly a fail).

My wife got some books for additional studies and he works on them daily but they don't seem to do the "trick".

Are there any web-sites available in THAI! which test students but also provide info about the method about how to solve a posted problem?

We do not like to send him to additional tuition classes if this can be avoided.

Thanks for any advise.

In my opinion, i think to have a additional tuition class for maths is a necesity for students who are weak. (Try to hire an instructor one by one or just a small group)

The reasons are, To study maths need a special skill as a guide. If a student(weak in maths) reads it all by him/herself, he/she will not understand the trick /tip clearly. Moreover, to learn via online(even a book), the perents should have a good knowledge and background of maths very well,so they can explain thier kid.

ps, i try to search about maths websites and i found rubbish.

Thanks for your reply BambinA.

We (parents) are both quite good in math (have BSc in statistics (wife) and computer science (me)) but it is not easy to teach your own son (lack of respect/authority??)

Two years ago when he was not doing well in English math I found web-sites (US) for him to work on and they did help him, his grade went from D to B within a few months and is still good. I did watch him and explained things when needed.

Now I'm looking for something similar in Thai and hope this may work as well. My wife will be able to observe and supervise while he is doing his work online.

any ideas?
