I am planning on retiring to Thailand later this year after selling my business and personal property. My wife and I (both U.S. citizens over the age of 50) live in Michigan. According to Thai Consul General web info I should direct my inquiries and visa applications thru the Chicago consul office. The reason I am looking at getting retirement visa in U.S.is based upon discussions on this forum. I e-mailed to their visa e-mail address some specific questions to clarify what they require on paperwork and paperwork being notarized. Waited a week and had no response. Resent the same e-mail to their general e-mail address for the consul general and have given it a week with no response back from them.

Questions:

Have others had this experience?

What would you recommend as a next step in pursuit of issuance of visa in United States?
