Hi all,

I would like to know how much it would cost, for a Thai company to emploi a Farang ...

They never had one working in their company and would like to know how much all this might cost them

I know about the 2M baht registered capital they need to have but that is about it ...

Is there also a minimum salary they have to pay a farang each month ?

Can the farang work halftime in that company, thus costing them less ?

Thanks for your info

A lot of people bandy around that they must earn 50k per month but that is not correct as my investigations proved.

You would need 4 Thais on the books for each work permit.

They need to show the foreign worker's salary for the forthcoming year in their accounts to get the WP.

Don't know the accurate company costs for social, taxes etc.

Don't know the actual costs of the WP and associated paperwork.

If you do not have a business visa then you will have to go outside thaialnd to get one - who pays for that ?

There is probably loads more but I am not holding all these details.

You need to have a 2M registered capital for each foreigner worker. 1M if the foreigner is married to a Thai national.

You do not need to have 4 employees per foreigner to obtain a work permit, this is a requirement with the Immigration in order to obtain a 1 year extension of stay based on employment.

There are no salary requirements for the foreigner to obtain the work permit in Chiang Mai, it was reported that Bangkok likes to see THB 30,000+ per month and some other provinces THB 18,000+ per month. YMMV
