Im English, 37 years old and considering relocatoing to Thailand next year to set up a business of my own (a Limited Company in partnership with a Thai). Im trying to find out which would be the best visa to apply for, B or O.

It appears possible to work on both visas, however I believe my age may restrict me, is this correct? If this is the case then Im restricted to a class B visa, but even then there are sub classes of B... if a B is the only option then I need to obtain a letter from the business of which I will be the director. How can I do this if the business has not actually commenced trading yet?

More info, the (new) business will be registered in Thailand this year, and will not trade until I move to Thailand. I am aware that I need to apply for a work permit before commencing work.

Hope someone can help.

u can get your papers prepared by consultants such as SUNBELT or SIAM-LEGAL.

then u should be able to obtain a multiple-non-Immi-B Visa at a HONORARY CONSULAR OFFICE in the UK or even in other countries (Denmark, Germany, Australia.....)

I would suggest you to live AT LEAST 6-12 months in Thailand and CHECK everything before setting up a company. my guess is that in 80% of the cases, the money of "Farang-wanna-open-a-business" is lost within less than 2-3 years. so learn from other people's misshaps and take your time.....
