Buying Electronics Better In Kl Or Singapore?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Can anyone give me advice on whether KL or Singapore is cheaper/better than Singapore for buying electronic equipment like video cameras and microphones?

If anyone has any locations/conacts that would be great.

Many thanks in advance

I would recommend KL. if you are an expert, then u could go to PLAZA LOW YAT next to Sungei Wang / BB PLAZA shoping mall and do bargaining....

If you are NOT an expert, go to any big mall such as PAVILLION, MID VALLEY, TIMES SQUARE, THE GARDEN or KLCC and go to one of the branches of those IT-warehouses, to get an overview of whats on offer.

you may be able to get a better deal at Plaza Low Yat, but then not all of those dealers can be trusted. its a bit like PANTIP, though smaller and more a shopping mall atmosphere....

I would better stick to the big IT-warehouses (similar with , for example, "HARDWARE HOUSE" in Thailand).

there is little danger they will rip you off.

I found Video-cameras and digital cameras cheaper than in SG or BKK (I just checked several models of digital cameras less than a week ago, and am angry with myself that I didnt buy that OLYMPUS camera at KL, which was slightly cheaper than in SG and BKK (which I only found out after returning to BKK 3 days ago)
