"remind-me-please" Utility

Featured Replies

I wanted to post this in the Downloads section, but not allowed it seems.

Anyhow, take a look at a great little (and free) utility/programme that will pop up timely reminders of things you need to do - not least of which might be your visa-runs or address reporting every 90 days, renew licences annually etc (looks like it would also handle birthdays). Very configurable for notice periods, repeating every given period etc. The website description is self-explanatory and the author seems to have written quite a few other gems that could be of interest. I did quite a lot of searching and experimenting with other (including shareware & commercial trial) programmes until I found that this does the business.

Google Calendar does all that and more, plus you can see anyone else's schedule who uses it, and it interfaces with your Gmail, if you're a user. Also free. Experimented with many calendar systems for years, and this one seems to beat them all.

Mobile phone planner works just fine for me.

And don't forget it also sends sms reminders to your phone. Very handy.

Glad it helped :o

Of course, there are other programmes that will do what this one does and much (too much?) more - e.g. Google Calendar etc. The point behind recommending this one is that it does just enough as simply as possible for those of us who are not techno/admin committed and maybe don't have more than a basic phone. I like it because it's a great little stand-alone utility and it suits my solo purposes just fine - because I don't want to sort through all the options of tracking what other family/staff members might be doing...... not to mention all the other bells and whistles that clog so many of the alternatives.
