Anyone have a recipe for this soup? I've ordered it many times at local restaurants, but the only recipes I can track down are those for the Vietnamese sour kind, or the Malaysian. The Thai one has quite a 'meaty' flavour (which I put down to a lot of soy/oyster sauce) and includes a root vegetable called 'brueak' (not sure of the phonetisization ...) thanks

Not sure if you're referring to "kaeng som" which has papaya cut into pieces, "makham" (tamarind), ground red chili (beaten chili). When you boil a long time with fish head, the soup will not be clear and you will feel it meaty.
