My friend needs some advice,

Facts..

He's British Citizen

He lives in Thailand permanently

He’s 49 years old this coming July

He holds a Non ‘’O’’ Immigrant Visa issued in the UK

The Non ‘’O’’ Visa end’s this July

He normally returns to the UK every year in July to apply for a new Non ‘O’ Immigrant visa

His long time Thai girlfriend is pregnant

The baby’s due this July

He does not want to leave his girlfriend alone in Thailand when the baby's due this July

he's wondering just what are his options to obtain a new Non 'O' Immigration visa when the current one terminates this July..?

he of course does not want to fly back to the UK to apply this time as the baby's due in the same month as his Visa is

finished

would having the new baby ( The baby will take his surname and this will be shown on the baby's Thai birth certificate )

offer any options regarding him applying for a new Non 'O' Immigration Visa..?

what would be his best option in the above case ..?

your comments and advice would be most welcome ... Thanks

Why not make the trip a little earlier this year?

No a child will not get him a multi entry non immigrant O visa. At best a single entry or a 60 day extension of stay.

Are we talking about a Multi-entry O visa expiring in July?

If so he can do a visa run at the end of June and get a new 3 month stamp

to see him through the arrival of the baby.

Thanks lopburi3,

I think my friend wants to be with his girlfriend as much as possible up to and after the birth, If his UK issued Non ' O ' Immigration visa end's on July the 24 th of this year, if he did a boarder run one week before the visa is set to expire am I right in thinking he would be issues one final 90 day period, which then would take him to October. ..?

From what I can tell , my friend really wants to be be with his girlfriend as much as possible , in case there's a medical problem both well before the birth and after the birth, would he have a quicker turn round option in obtaining a new

Non ' O' Immigration visa from a neighboring Thailand country ..? if so could you please advise on which country and if possible the paperwork and any financial requirements for him to be issued a new Non 'O ' Immigration visa.

many Thanks....

If his visa itself is still valid he can make a new exit/return to obtain another 90 day stay at any time - his visa does not have to remain valid for him to complete that stay.

He is not going to be able to obtain a multi entry visa anywhere in the area like he has been doing in UK. And prior to birth he will not obtain any non immigrant visa in the area.

After birth the certificate with his name on it may allow a Consulate to issue single entry visas to visit. I would carry that, copy of mothers ID card and short letter from her inviting them to issue the visa so he can visit. There is not normally any financial requirement (other than paying the visa fee).

And when he turns 50, he could get an extension to stay based on having a Thai child.
