I immigrated to Australia when I was mid 20, I committed entirely myself to the OZ land, and only have family back to France.

BKK to MELB return for 20,000 more or less. Visa aren't really that difficult, reasonable accommodation is easily found. Just come and go.

If the choice is sell up and move everything here, or don't come here at all then that is two choices.

The answer surely depends on your circumstances. I'm confident enough that I could survive here on my assets for the rest of my life and also that my life is here, so yes I would.
