If I remember correctly, it costs 3 baht every time you connect. I tried to use the free TOT service and it was more expensive than a decent service that you pay for. Having to reconnect every five minutes was more expensive.

Yes, it costs 3B per connection. I don't know what their policy is now but when they started it was 2 hours per one dial-up which was a lot cheaper than what was available at the time.

I've just tried our very old TOT1222 free connection (haven't used it for years) and get 15-20Kbps.

Why not try a dial-up account with Pacific Internet (60 hours good for 6 months, 300B) or CS loxinfo (1,300B good for one year, 100hours)?

Speed usually over 45Kbps and reliable connection. We use them as a back-up in case our ADSL goes down.

Yes, he says, at times he gets unexpected high(?) download speed for few seconds or so.

And he'd used cx loxinfo card and says he found it way too expensive. :o

Well, he now thinks he'd better sign up for TOT adsl. :D
