Does it matter how far your money would go? Isn't the whole idea that you help someone less fortunate and redistribute wealth to make things more equal? You say billionaires should give up more of their money because other people need it. Fine, but why does that principle only apply once someone becomes a billionaire? Start sending some of your money. If you really believe redistribution is the answer, maybe go to the bank and take out a loan and send that money too. After all, there are millions of people around the world with far less than you have. It's always easy to be generous with someone else's money. As for billionaires they ARE giving billions of dollars away. Just look at the numbers. Bill Gates has put tens of billions into his foundation, which spends billions every year fighting malaria, polio, TB, hunger and disease in developing countries. Warren Buffett has donated nearly $48 billion to the Gates Foundation alone. MacKenzie Scott gave about $2 billion in 2024, and Michael Bloomberg gave $3.7 billion. In 2025 alone, the 50 biggest American donors gave or pledged $22.4 BILLION to charity. So it's simply not true that billionaires are just sitting on their money and "never doing any good." You can argue they should give more, but that's a completely different argument.
