Research - Original Clothing Or Market Haute Coiture?

Might be a dodgy topic and draw some 'Why do you care responses?' but here you are, a weekend discussion weekend topic.

When I first came to Thailand from the UK I posessed a complete wardrobe of designer gear (Original Lacoste, Stone Island, RL, Prada etc) of which I brought with me. and for a while I wore these clothes religiously because that was the standard of dress in my locality. After 3 years in Asia I have realised that it really does'nt matter here and as long as you look reasonably respectable (ie No Chang or Bad guys goto Pattaya wife beater vests) people don't really care. To ge to the point are there any TV members who still will only wear the original gear and not the copies? Seen a few guys with original clobber but not sure if they were ex-pats or tourists.

Just intrigued as to other members views on this.
