I am a newbie here in Bangkok.... I know that for a foreigner to set up a company is to have a registered work permit of 2 million baht...

Well i was thinking of oppening up an internet cafe in bangkok but do not have that amount of 2 million baht,.... I have an idea of using my Thai Wife name to set up a company under her own named but of course the set up capital will be maybe 700Kbaht ... and can see appy for a work permit for me as a Computer specialist ??? what should we do ??

OR another idea was to Use my Sister inlaws bussiness company licence she owns a company that have a a set up capital of 3million baht and can we just used her company name to set up an internet cafe and will her company qualify for a work permit for me ???

If you are a director and seeking employment, the registered company must be 2 million. This is on paper and does not need to be paid up.

If you are an employee and not a director, the company does not have a minimum to get a work permit but the guideline is it should be a million baht registered capital.

As the 2 million is on paper, why not do option 1? You become the Managing Director and register the company on paper. You have control that way over the corporation and not your wife.

Yes she could apply for a work permit for you as a computer specialist. All is well till if you ever get divorced. Option 1 is much better with you having control!

Yes, she could, but will she want to be paying you a minimum of 45,000 Baht per month salary and the social fund tax involved?
