Channel 4 (uk) Research For Programme

Recommended Posts

Greetings one and all: I have been contacted by a researcher from Channel 4 in the UK, asking me about people who had upped sticks and come to live in this exotic location. Did I know anyone apart from my good self? Of course, many I replied and gave her some info on people I knew who had come here and worked rather than invest in brewery products all day.

She kept asking about envronmental businesses and animals. farms etc.

Now I don't know how many Farangs have set up in Isan to look after sick buffaloes but I guess there must be some.

If anyone feels they can contribute to this then pleae contact me by PM, especially Brits. Nothing like money has been mentioned and we just end up on the telly. Lets see where it takes us

Last time I did an interview on Channel 4 I told the truth .......... and upset quite a few people ....... so no thanks !!

Seriously though if they wan't to contact Brits "up norf" I suggest they do so via <URL to external site removed> which is the local forum and is read by most people up here.

You might like to tell your very badly-informed Channel 4 researcher that it is illegal for foreigners to work in the agricultural industry in Thailand.

Perhaps I'm being cynical, but this sounds like some sort of follow up to My Boyfriend The Sex Tourist.

Interesting. Thats something I never considered. Didn't sound as though that was the angle at all, as she only seemed inteested in business and often where husband and wife had come here. A spot of paranoia creeping in prhaps!?

Somebody should make a documentary about why journalists suffer culture shock when they get outside the confines of the pc world of luvvies.

Maybe they should make a documentary about why the BBC have an obsession with Africa and report Peter Tatchells every move on the gay rights front. Worthy as I am sure it is to the BBC top brass, when it makes news that he has gone on a protest march in outer mongolia or some such place and gotten a slap for it i wonder if perhaps more important things could have been found for the main news items for the day.

She will have a face on her that suggests a horse has sh1t in her handbag once she sees how her intellect, money and career are worth exactly nothing when she is amongst Isaan's finest of a saturday night :o . Then.... it will be everybody elses fault. Sleezy men, sex slave girls yawn yawn yawn, AND IT'S MSSSSSSSSSSS TO YOU!!

Wait and see!

Ooo eer I think I'll give this a miss!! Never thought I'd raise such emotions by asking about a phone call I had. On the 'bad researcher' comment, I assume thats why she contacted someone who lived here - to find things out? Any way thanks for all the input - I'll go for a beer instead :o

Sorry that you seem to be getting the usual negative replies that journalists seem to attract on this forum. I am an ex Brit who has set up a business harvesting rice in Isaan. If I can help I would be happy to.

I was offered 1000 pounds(plus a trip home for the whole family) a couple of years back to make a program here and then in my old home - I reclined, but sounded ok.

I would too - very comfortably - with an extra £1000 in my pocket.
