Royal Jordanian Airlines do a stopover included in the price. Vouchers for dinner buffet and breakfast plus a night in a comfortable room with hot water and a cable TV - very good transfer times and not expensive. Leave UK about ?? time and arrive Amman at 8pm local time. Leave Amman the next day at 11am for Bangkok...

You ever flown with them? The reviews are terrible.

That sounds good. The reviews are most certainly not good: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/rja.htm

You can book via their website: http://www.rja.com.jo/default.aspx

Personally I wouldn't touch them, unless I was planning a few days in Jordan that is. If you do go ahead then don't expect the service to be anywhere near EK, QR, EY & even GF.

I think its time for more suggestions please

I think its time for more suggestions please

The obvious one is where I usually stopover - Dubai. Emirates actually encourage this and even their cheapest fares allow stopovers. You can book flights with stopovers on their website, unlike Etihad - you have to contact their office.

Last year I flew with GF and wanted to stopover in Muscat for three days - it would have been an extra £300 per person for a ticket that allowed a stopover!

I think its time for more suggestions please

Haven't been there, but Sri Lanka looks interesting.

I actually use Thailand as my halfway country, so I don't think of it as that far..

Going from London to Udon .....Bangkok is about halfway .......timewise!

My apologies, I've just been on Etihad's website, they've updated it since I last used their booking engine - it now allows you to book flights with a stopover in AUH.

This may be classed as a tiny bit off topic, but how does whitethai make such a mess of his posts. Almost every post is filled with '<br /><br /><br />'. He even managed '??<br /><br />' by copying his own post and even fits them into other posts he quotes

I have tried to duplicate it but can't, so if anyone knows the special technique involved I would appreciate it

Completely off topic. :o

Why don't you start a new thread in the forum support desk forum? Someone there may reveal the special technique you desire.

I have flown several times with Royal Jordanian and always had the best treatment :o

When's the next party, sounds like you may be able to keep it going till 9pm next time. Just a bundle of fun on those slow evenings.

Maybe the op should look into why it takes so long to recover from flying, even Gandi reckoned it took only a few days for the soul to catch up. Maybe your soul is on methadone? As the op doesn't profess to be rich, maybe another form of transport. Working a cruise ship prehaps will appeal?

Dubai definitely a good place for a stopover and Emirates / Etihad are good airlines.

Jordan is also a great place to visit but I don't konw anything about their ailine.

Look at a map, then go to www.kayak.co.uk , click advanced search then do Lon - Bkk via wherever you picked out on the map and watch the prices flood in....hard if not impossible to do this on most sites. Also the best site for anyone flying direct anyway as it checks virtually all of the flight brokers and all of the airlines, thats unique.

My choice definitely Sri Lanka as I like the place anyway as a destination, not big on the Gulf States. Though must admit if I hated flying (i'm no lover of it) I would rather choose a direct flight and get it over with than break it in that fashion.

Mr Fish, if you're looking for fun why don't you go & swim in another thread? :D

Well well well what a surprise

After emailing Dubai airlines enquiring of stopovers flights I have no reply

This is typical typical of a lot of companies dont bother to email you back.

Sometimes you got real urgent questions right and waiting biting nails for replies.

Dubai airlines? Do you mean Emirates? If so, you can book stopover flights through their booking engine as follows:

1) On their Home Page, place cursor over Plan & Book & click Make a Booking.

2) On the Make a Booking page click Stopover.

You can now search for a flight with a stopover.
