Apacer 4-port Usb Hub Not Compatible

Featured Replies

Apacer PH150, 4-port High speed USB 2.0 hub not compatible with motherboards based on Intel 965 and newer motherboards.

The little Apacer 4-port hub works fine with a Intel 865, SiS 655TX and two Intel Mac's, but any devices connected to connected to the hub while the hub is connected to a Intel 965 or Intel P35 chipset based motherboard it fails to initialize the device correctly.

The funny part is that the Apple Mac's also use Intel chipsets, and the problem is not operating system related, all systems we can boot with the same operating system.

With Windows XP Professional and Asus P5B motherboard, the Apacer hub is discovered correctly, Windows XP tells us we can use the new hardware and it looks like all is going well, but if we connect a device say Flash drive, Windows XP sees it tells correctly what it is and then says installation failed.

All device we have show the same problem, and of course all this device work correctly if we connect them to the USB port on the computer....

Anybody seen this problem before, anybody knows a fix.. We have a few Chinese no-name hubs which work without any problem.
