I would like to know what the position is for a farang to purchase a property on a new estate as i am being given contradictory information from developer any advice would be appreciated.

It's simple: Foreigners CAN NOT own land in Thailand. Anyone telling you otherwise or offers ways around it are telling porky pies.

For anyone living in Wongamat Beach, there's a new open mall being constructed across the street from the Centara Grand Mirage resort. It's supposed to open later this year and will contain restaurants, cafes, a grocery store, etc. With any luck, the grocery store will be good. And the area could use a few more restaurants.
