February 25, 200818 yr Occasionally, after switching off the UPS, I hear some clicking which doesn't bother me. Lately I heard beeping sounds inside the UPS after having switched off both the UPS and computer for more than 2 hours. What's going on and should I change anything ?
February 25, 200818 yr Battery might be going. If UPS has an indicator panel - check the message on the front. (usually a symbol of sorts) Then check what the manual says about it.

The UPS is only 2 months old, so the battery should be okay. (?) Although I regularly switch off the UPS, I never switch off the multiple socket in which the UPS is plugged, is this okay or non okay ?
February 25, 200818 yr Silly idea, but check it's plugged in correctly. The socket may have problems.

Beeping normally means that the UPS is switched on and is supplying power to something, but it is not receiving mains supply. I have a UPS with a cheap on/off switch at the front that went faulty and I couldn't be sure it was on or off - something had broken inside the switch. I replaced the switch and it is now OK. Maybe your on/off switch is faulty too?

This is OK and normal - leave the UPS connected to the mains so that it is constantly being charged, but switch off its outputs using the on/off switch on the UPS.
February 26, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the input. The beeping only happened once and everything seems to work normally, so I guess I'll leave it for what it is.
