The following is an email sent to me by my agency, it might clarify the situation or muddy the waters even more, but this is it;

" Dear All, I think, some of you have known about the new rule from MOE. After this you can't renew your visa and teacher license with out the license from Teacher Council of Thailand Board.(Kurusapa).They have many rules to request from Foreigner Teachers and they make the complicated problem to all of you.However, I wonder that you will understand and follow from their steps. I got the document from your schools and I will send to MOE for postpone the license from Kurusapa first but it is only the first step.You need to have the test from Kurusapa. It will be arrange on 5 th April and you are lucky that it has the place for this exam in songkhla. However, you must pay for this test around 5,000 THB. (1,000 THB per section). In the website http://foreprof.ksp.or.th/ the dates for applying this test is 20^th Feb to 13 March. You can read for more details. If you accept todo. I will apply for you and arrange your documents. Second, after you pass the exam. You must have Training course about Thai Culture to get the certificate to show Kurusapa. I will help you by asking the training officer to come to songkhla. Normally, this training will be arrange in Bangkok only but if we can find 20 foreigner teachers. They will come to arrange the course at Songkhla for us. The cost for this training is 8,000 THB per person. I know that it's a lot of money to do for 2 things (around 13,000 THB) and other cost if they ask for. However, it's only way to do. If you don't do this. You can't renew your visa and license from MOE.You must to stamp out. That's why we would like you to follow their rules and understand the situation. Pls reply this mail to me if you accept to do or you have any problems and any questions.to ask me. If it has more information, I will let you know.

WE are doing the course for 5000 baht and the 4 exams at 1000 baht a piece. Total = 9000 baht.

I'm not being screwed.. That's the Other poster you're talking about.. I was just clarifying what he was trying to say.

Personally My Teaching license is pre-2003.. As far as I can tell, I'm grandfathered, and don't need to deal with all this BS.

So I'm not paying Anything.
