Costs Work Permit ?

Featured Replies

Hello everybody !

I live in Thailand together with my Thai wife and our daughter who has 2 nationalities, registred.

I have a 1 year visa based on Non Immigrant "O"

Now I can go work here for a company that will also provide me the work permit.

I have to pay for that myself and will be paid back in full after 6 months of working inside this company.

So far, no problem and a good thing for me as well as for the company, because they want me to stay there and not get the work permit and then I will leave as "I can do better".

Now I would like to know:

* do I have to change my visa ? (I know I saw the topic before, but cannot find it anymore) :o

* what will be the total costs for the work permit, maybe including the change of the visa ?

Can anyone help me with this information ?

Pom@baan,

You can obtain a work permit on an "O" visa.

The government fee for a one year work permit is 3,000 baht plus 100 baht for the application form.

If you need a lawyer to help you, our firm charges 7,800 Baht plus Vat to process the permit. Our legal department welcomes the opportunity to do so.

The time frame for approval is 2-3 weeks.
