Oz Tourist Visa For Thai

Hi Guys,

Well as some of you may remember I had great luck getting a 3 month tourist visa followed by a 12 month ME just over a year ago and I had know the girl a little over a month and had made the immigration dept fully aware of that fact. It's all thanks to the members of this forum that we were able to build a very strong application Well that relationship with her has now ended and she has gone back to Thailand at the end of January.

I am in contact with another friend who I would like to take it more seriously with and get her a visa to come to Australia, I have known her since Febuary 2004 and have emails and photo's to prove this. I was just wondering would the IMMI dept allow me to sponser another girl so soon after ending with the last one? She allways abided by her visa regs and never had any problem.

I think the main reason for the last girl was that she had a 3 year old kid so had a very strong reason to return but this girl is kidless and 21 years old (Only a year difference). I have not yet returned to Thailand since my ex has gone back but am going next month and would like to bring my new girlfriend back with me.

What do guys think? Please give me some advice on how to apply.

First off.....you havent sponsored anyone yet....you merely supported the previous applicant. Official sponsorship relates to other visas.

As for the new friend.....forget it unless she can apply as an independant applicant. It would be almost impossible to get her a visa with you supporting the application. Even though you didnt officially sponsor the ex, you are still on record as a financial supporter of the ex.

You will need to wait a substantial time period before you will have any chance of getting this girl a visa with your support.

You can try of course....there is nothing to stop you trying but my thought is that it would be futile. We have seen a very similar situation here before and it resulted in failure.

You need to slow down a bit.....ensure you have a good relationship before comitting yourself to things.

Substantial time cant be defined in days weeks and months....that can only be determined by the Embassy.
