Thaksin's Promise

Thaksin's promise

(BangkokPost.com)

An apology and then a stark promise came from Thaksin Shinawatra at his long press conference at the end of a long and emotional day: "I will definitely not get involved in politics."

Simple question.

Do you believe anything he says?

But then, he would make a great lead actor if they decide on a remake of Pinocchio

Spam comes from inside an oval shaped tin and, for the life of me, I can't draw a parallel to the ex chairman and the drivel that comes from his mouth to keep his personal circus / charade full of momentum. :D

In a word..... NO.

The man could not lie straight in bed.

Even my girlfriend from Issan does not believe him, although most of her colleagues in the government office still think he is the best thing since sliced bread. :o

Bloke in the bar next door put 30K on the event he will be in power by April next year. I think he may be out by a little but not that much.

Unfortunately, NO. :o

He says things like this, while at the same time he finances & pulls-the-strings of the PPP, how is that not getting involved in politics ?

He says, boarding the plane in Hong Kong, that he doesn't expect a big crowd to meet him in Bangkok, while at the same time his web-site Hi-Thaksin exhorts fans to gather to greet him on-arrival.

You simply cannot believe anything he says. :D

You can tell when a politician lies. Their lips move.

Seemed to be a pretty poor turn out really. The boss thinks he's great!

300BHT for voting..... money for nothing.

It doesn't really matter whether he returns to politics or not. He owns them all already.

I believe he will not take the " lead position " again but remain

in the background and very much in control behind the scenes.

In some ways it can be better for him because he can do deals on the side

without being under the spotlight as PM.

Get real my friend he is a politician, they are born to LIE!! :o:D:D:D

well lets face it, no one gets to be a billionaire by being honest

mind you, seeing as none of you lot have the vote i'm guessing it doesnt matter a jot WHAT you think :o

:D:o:D :D

Hey,it would make a great t-shirt.Taxin's head underlined with "i will definitely not get involved in politics".

sometimes I really want to believe what he says, but he has disappointed me so many times I have learned this man can not be trusted.

give it some time and he will be back.... "because the people want me back". or some such rubbish

I believe.

I believe.

He has an honest face.

BTW, I bought the Brooklyn Bridge

again

but I can't seem to convince the State of New York that I am entitled to the tolls. What gives?

Taksin........Gohok mai?

He can't even believe the bull that he spews out. He probably just came to collect the missing pipes of baht they never found or mentioned again. Besides he would most likely get exonerated as most lying political figures get pardoned in the end.

You can't believe anything that his guy says. Why should people believe him now?

It's like that episode of Dallas when Bobby steps out of the shower, the whole previous season (or two?) had been a bad dream..... absolutely nobody watching believed it, but the viewing figures weren't hurt :o

Course not, he'll be the next PM within 2yrs time. :o

Pinocchio deja vu... with the other liar...

His belly is like Pinocchio's nose when he tells lies...

Yes everything... :o

He,s allready involved by buying man city ! :o:D:D

See avatar on left.

A reformed politician

I think not

I was told there is something like "lie-detectors" based on the voice, why not use this in an interview ?

Personally, if a "capo-di-maffia" tells me "I will abide by the law", I don't beleive it ...

Thaksin is like Mr. Ed, the talking horse from American TV... if you put peanut butter on the roof of his mouth, he looks like he's saying something. Thaksin is no different!

No his ego is way too big, to fully back out of politics !

No way in the world. He puts his mouth into motion without engaging his brain.
