Saving A Picture To Hard Drive

Featured Replies

I am running XP SP2 on my Office computer. Lately, when I right click and try to save a picture to my hard-drive, and use Save Picture As... the only option I get is untitled.bmp. I can rename the picture, but not change the extension.

Okay, once the picture is saved, I can change the type to .tif, .gif, .jpg etc but this is annoying and time-consuming.

As far as I know, no settings have been changed. Where it gets really annoying is if I want an animated gif file, it is initially saved as a .bmp and when I get to change it into a .gif, I have lost the animation.

Why is it so?

Peter
