Can Anyone Tell Me What This Means Please

Featured Replies

Just had 2 text messages but i've not got a clue what they mean. I have tried online dictionarys but no joy. The first one went - Chun mai chae! Kun to lae! Chun graed kun mak mak. The second started in English but finished- fun dee na, chun luk kun mak mak. The context for both is jokey i think. Thankyou to anyone who can help.

Chun graed kun mak mak.

Could that be: I am very angry at you. ? (Chan kriat Khun mak mak)

The second started in English but finished- fun dee na, chun luk kun mak mak.

Sweet dreams (fun = dream)

I love you very much (I understand that luk is Isaan for rak)

Does that make sense?

My guess is that the first one says: "I don't believe you, you're a liar. I hate you so much."

and I'm with sutnyod on the second one.

"luk" is not Isaan/Lao.

Nobody would sandwich one Lao word between two Thai words, anyway.

"chun luk kun mak mak" is straight Thai, romanised with an "l" where you would normally use an "r" for rak/ruk... Many Thais don't make a distinction between "l" and "r" sounds, even in the Thai equivalents. Romanising Thai is even trickier for them (and everybody else, for that matter).

ฮัก - (hak) (Isaan/Lao) = rak/ruk/lak/luk...(or however you romanise the Thai word)

ข่อยฮักเจ้า (Isaan/Lao) = I love you

I totally agree with the two translations above.

Thus looks like wild mood swings unless one of the texts was in jest?

or maybe from 2 different people, hence the content of the messages? :o
