my b visa multiple entry runs out in august. my question is can i renew it without leaving thailand.

You have to leave Thailand to receive another multi Non Imm B. Yes, you can apply for another multi before the existing one expires. Always best to confirm with your local consulate first.

There are various ways of extending a current visa for 1 year so that you do not have to leave or do border runs.
