Hi,

My question is about resign from my current job for a new one (in Thailand)

I'm married with Thai citizen since a few year ( legally in Thailand & Belgium)

I have the same Visa/Working Permit since 10 years

My current Visa end on 31 December 2008 , same for my working permit

What should I do for my working permit and Visa?

Possible to transfer it to my new job and keep my Visa?

Or I have to leave the country for new application?

New application can be in any country or only my country of origin (Belgium)

Thanks

Jean-Marc

You are saying you are on one year extension of stay for work? In that cause you will lose your extension upon termination of employment and have 7 days to leave the country. If extension of stay is for wife (family) then you do not have that problem and can continue your current extension of stay.

If in the same area and both employers are agreeable it may be possible to make a change - believe it is add the new one and then delete the old one but it is time sensitive and everyone has to be in agreement.

For new visa all you need is a non immigrant O on the basis of marriage (marriage certificate and copy of wife ID card) and you can then use that for the new employment. Most any Consulate will issue a single entry.

dear Lopburi 3,

Thanks for the information

Last year, I did a change of company on my W.P on mutual agreement

I didn't have to leave the country

This time, not possible for sure

The new employer is a direct competitor in my field (medical)
