90 day reporting

my first time

1- is it true if you do it by mail you should do it 7 days before the 90 days time is up, otherwise you may face some bad consequences?

2- if you do it in person, you can do it up to 7 days before or 7 days after the 90 day time is up?

3- are the 7 days 7 real days or 7 business days?

4- if you go 6 or 7 days after the 90 days, and its legal, wouldn't that give you a little extra time until you need to report again,

(the first 90 day report date will be a bit after the 90 days and then your next report time will be 90 days out from the first report time, giving you that extra 1-7 days)

5-has anyone been fined for coming in 8 days instead of 7? and then what happened?

6- anymore insights please???

can some people with experience help with these questions

oh and

7 - do you really need to send in a copy of every page of your passport up until the current visa and entry if reporting by mail?

that would make it out of the question for some people i imagine

1. Makes sence because the post may be late (go to 5)

2. Yes, the 7 days after is by way of a leeway (travelling, being able t travel etc)

3. Real days I believe (certainly wouldn't trust 7 working days)

4. I guess so - I don't think they back date to start date, but not sure...

5. They cancel your Visa I believe, then you have to leave the country and get a new one (unless you can prove you were incapacitated - i.e. in a coma or something)

6. Erm

7. Yep - you may have a VISA stamp on any page (I've got stamps from Turkey on the last VISA page leaving most of the book free!). The pages are numbered, so they know what VISAs, entries and exits you have and any restrictions applied.

Don't trust my word - believe what the Immigration web site says.

5. You will get a 2,000 Baht fine.

7. Page with your photo on. Non O Visa. TM 6 Entry Card. Your current permitted to stay stamp.

Your last 90 Day Report Receipt.

Stamped address envelope for the reply.

This form.

1. If late and not proven mailed 7 days before you will likely receive normal 2k fine - but law allows:

Section 76 : Any alien, alien, who fails to comply with the provisions of Section 37(2),(3),(4)or(5) shall be

punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with and additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for

each day which passes until the law is complied with.

2. Yes - but be aware some offices may not appreciate late reporting.

The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires.

3. 7 days - not specified as work days.

4. The amount of time to reporting date would be the same 90 days - if you continued to be late the average time between reports would be slightly longer than 90 days.

5. Yes. They have paid a 2,000 baht fine.

6. Put in computer or phone to remind you and for smiles all around always be on time or a little early.

7. That's what the below says.

Notification by registered mail

Copy of all passport pages (up to the latest arrival stamp in the Kingdom or latest visa stamp)

Copy of arrival/departure card TM. 6 (front and back)

Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any)

Completely filled in and signed notification form TM. 47

Envelope with 5 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 after having received the notification. This part must be kept for reference and for future notifications of staying over 90 days.

The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.

Send the mail before the renewal date 7 days to

copy of all passport pages????

i have a bible sized passport!!!

anyone else gotten away with just the required pages and not every page?

and now for number:

8 - what if you are out of Bangkok and won't do it by mail?

i recall seeing somewhere all you need to do is report to local immigration (duh) or the POLICE which i doubt would make everything fine and good

anyone report to the police like that instead of immigration?

thanks folks so much

you have been most helpful

question number 9

if i go in person to bkk imm. do i need copies of anything?

or just bring the passport and the departure card?

thanks again

lop and others

sorry post # 9 was not clear to me

so that means COPIES not necessary or yes do make copies and bring?

and the BIG ONE:

i would love to do this by mail

but my passport is bible sized

copying ALL PAGES and sending is, well, perhaps not really feasible

anyone else get away with doing this by mail without ALL pages copied?

thanks so much to all

I gave you what is required - no copies of anything is needed for live reporting - just the items themselves so they can check them.

Must be different in Bangkok lop, I did my 90 day reporting earlier this month in Samui and they wanted photocopies of the id page of my passport as well as the last stamp of the extension to stay. Surprised me as I had never had to submit photocopies before.

Same at Phu Sing and Phibun Magsahan

This is being done in Bangkok and as far as I know there is no such requirement here. I did last time a month ago at One Stop Service Center next to Central Plaza Latphao and it was not required. I do not believe it is downtown either. It seems upcountry they do want; at least now. Thanks.

If you report in person at Suan Plu, no copies are required, only originals.

By mail (to Suan Plu) you have to send in copies which will be returned to you together with the new report slip, so you can use the same copies again for the next report as long as nothing has changed.

I've been using the same copy set for the past 3 reports (since my last extension).

Though the rules say you have to copy all pages, I only sent the photo page, the page showing the transfer of my original visa info to the new PP and the page with the current entry - extension stamp. Never had any problem.

You can get 4 PP pages on one A4 copy page, so it should not be a big deal even for a full PP.

Again, are we not making simple things awfully complicated?

90-day reporting does not need any photocopies, pictures, fees, only the appropriate form. 5 minutes, and it doesn't even hurt.

If you really have to do it by mail, yes possibly they want copy of your passport, since you are not there in person to present it. But how many of us live so far away from an Immigration office that mail is a better option?

I do. 170K there and 170K back.

OK, so you, and some others do live very far from an Immigration office. And for you, the mail option is good. But is it difficult? Does it need a 9 point checklist? Did not think so.

Sorry it did come over as a bit harsh in print. Was not meant to be.

No it`s not difficult.

Copies of

Photo page, Original Visa, Permitted to stay stamp, Tm6. Entry Card, last 90 day report receipt.

Together with a stamped address envelope for them to send your receipt.

Plus this form.

Thats what I do anyway. With Korat Office.
