March 14, 200818 yr I'm just picking on this one thread, the threads not important. Do you find yourself following a thread and then find yourself asking "Why am I following this <deleted>? Life's too short!" It happens to me all the time, tonight it was this: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=174647
March 14, 200818 yr Yes sir That happens to me often, but I think it's just my resolve to see things to their fruition
March 15, 200818 yr Yip, do it all the time, it's like staring down a hole in the ground just in case something interesting happens.
March 15, 200818 yr I often find myself sucked into pointless debates about subjects that I've often no real interest in. On the occasions when it's a subject that is close to my heart then it's usually pointless debating as most people have already made their mind up. I suspect one day I'll be found dead in front of the computer from a aneuryism caused during a heated debate in a thread called 'My Thai wife loves som tam more than me!' I suppose it's the 21st century version of having an accident on the day you were wearing soiled underpants.
March 15, 200818 yr Its like watching paint dry - easy to do when you have painted yourself into a corner.
March 15, 200818 yr Thanks boys, I'm not alone then! No - not all. I quite often follow a thread I have no particular interest in & then someone will be completely wrong about something - so I can't let a travesty like this occur on the internet & have to enter the thread to set the record straight.
March 15, 200818 yr Yes and no/occasionally/not often/it depends. I read the first three (short) posts of the thread you posted. I never cease to be amazed by the number of people who will have something to say about drivel. I have enough problems maintaining interest in my own drivel without buying into someone elses. Yet sometimes I do...
March 15, 200818 yr Ha ha ha. I just clicked on to the thread you indicated and couldn't resist pushing a stick into the wasps' nest and stirring. I would never have seen the thread otherwise, but as you say - irresistible.
March 15, 200818 yr Thank f*** for that; it's not just me then! Usually the title of the topic is a turn-off so you don't bother even clicking on it. Then later, you're feeling just a teensy bit, you know, at a loose end. So you click on it. Yep, it's the thread with the charisma-bypass. But hang on, it has 53 posts! What's going on? So you scroll through it looking desperately for the "hook". Ah, on the last page now... Er, hmm. Oh, b**locks; I'm going to have to say something just to justify wading through this stuff. Unless, of course, there's a post from WeekendWarrior and then my full attention is guaranteed...

You made me read this rubbish, apart from that is, sussing out an old banned member that is. Moss
March 15, 200818 yr Maybe I'm too old... I often don't bother much anymore. Every now and then, when I'm really bored, I'll still pop my head in general or other sections, but mostly I just come online to shoot the sh1t with me mates. Im the same in real life, actually. Been in pubs too long, I suppose. I just can't be bothered talking.debating things I can't change/know little about/ insert your own description. And I've not all that much that is close to my heart. My friends, my booze, maybe this french Baguette I've been dating for some five weeks or so now....

My friends, my booze, maybe this french Baguette I've been dating for some five weeks or so now.... Well, yeah; I know what you mean. I'm blessed (in England, that is) with mates who have all known each other a fair while and, consequently, we tend to have debated the "big questions" already. So our discussions are usually pretty abstract. Half of us are women, which helps. I'm not saying which half, though.
March 17, 200818 yr I hear footsteps......... ..........and the LEMMINGS are here.. Geez, I used to spend hours on that game. Well, when ya retired, who cares. I waste so much time watching telly and flipping thru' these pages. Guess I am NOT alone. (We need an emote for a musical note.)
March 18, 200818 yr I often wade through a thread waiting for the flash of blinding light when it all makes sense. When this doesn't happen I get to thinking "I've just wasted 'x' minutes of my life reading this cr@p so I'd better post something to at least create a reason for those 'x' minutes of existence. Then having spent 'y' minutes typing out the reply I realise I have now wasted 'x + y' minutes on a pointless exercise. Then comes the dilemma, do I trash the reply and face up to having wasted 'x + y' minutes on absolutely nothing or do I hit "add reply" and be dammed. By that point I have now wasted 'x + y + z' minutes, the world has turned a couple of degrees, the sun or moon is lower or higher in the sky depending on the time of day and my glass is empty. Hitting "add reply" gives me time to replenish it and not add to the wasted time. Years ago we used to sit and watch the world go by, then somebody invented the television and now we have the internet. Life is wasted all the same it's just that technology allows us to waste it more efficiently. Never before in the field of human endeavours has so much life been wasted by so many so quickly. Jonathan Miller, in an interview in the Bangkok Post some years back, was asked what he thought of the internet. His reply was that it was the biggest waste of time since masturbation was discovered. There speaks the voice of experience.

March 19, 200818 yr Seconded, Phil. (Fulfilled my y time, and now contemplating the z time. Ok. Need a refill anyway. )
March 19, 200818 yr this thread somehow qualifies for x, y and the z.....off to the rest room after hitting the post button...

March 19, 200818 yr Reality TV can never stand up to ThaiVisa reality. I follow threads that are interesting but the question remains 'To post or not to post?'

I posted what I thought was a funny post on page one and it didn't get any response!
March 19, 200818 yr Well I had a look at it. TG = transgender. What's a GG? I thought that was a child's term for a nag. Something Girl? Good Girl? Genuine Girl? Blowed if I know!
March 20, 200818 yr Well I had a look at it. TG = transgender. What's a GG? I thought that was a child's term for a nag. Something Girl? Good Girl? Genuine Girl? Blowed if I know! Genetic Girl, Pingers. I agree with Tigger; the whole post went downhill rapidly. I think it was a troll anyway, but all the same...
March 20, 200818 yr Author It was a troll micky, no doubt. Let's start a thread "I want to marry my ladyboy girlfriend" and watch the suckers line up to post.
