Mobi
sassienieAre you for real? This is Thailand, the tropics, what do you expect? I love the sound of all the different animals that inhabit my land, that`s what makes Thailand special for me. You could aways return back to your home country, maybe not so much wildlife there. Of greater interest, is are YOU for real? This thread is just under a year old (March 2008 the last post), and here you come, resurrecting it after all this time to have a pot shot at me and suggest I go home. If you bothered to read this thread, instead of jumping in after reading the first post, you would see that this was a very light hearted thread, and was more in the nature of a bit of a joke than taking the subject matter seriously. As it happens the toads have been really quiet this past year, and I have been able to watch my television without disturbance. I think our karma is now in tune, and my beloved toads know when to keep the noise down

sbk
Listening to the toads outside my window as I write this. To be totally honest, unless I choose to listen, I just don't hear them anymore. I do, however, notice when they all stop at once and then start to wonder what is out in the creek hunting the toads
mdechgan
I like toads croaking. They bring me peace. They also eat many insects. Whenever I don't hear toads I get scared because it only means one thing. I have a snake in my yard. Its either between toads or cobras. Well there was this one python but I think my neighbors took care of that.
Tywais
I do, however, notice when they all stop at once and then start to wonder what is out in the creek hunting the toads I just turn the outdoor lights on then off, that stops them for a few minutes. bangkokeddy
By building a pond you invited nature in. Fill the pond in and build another pond for your new friends further away from the house, they will migrate to the new one.
GarryP
You should roll around in the garden with the missus. The toads may not like being interrupted and get the hint.
JetsetBkk
I've only got one. I consider him a pet. He comes to visit sometimes.
anothertorres
this may seem too obvious, but... have you tried talking to them?
Beardog
When it is rainy season here in Bang Sare the Toads get some time deafening. I just crank up some house music for them to get it on to or shut the window to cut 30% of the noise out. In Jan we get the birds getting down. Even more noisy than the toads. Introduce some keelback snakes to the area. they are not a problem for you or your dogs & will prune the population of the Toads down.
F1fanatic
Admittedly I don't have so many toads around that they irritate me. But I too have a 'pet' toad that spends most of his time in my house! I kept ejecting him thinking he was trapped here until one evening I was blocking the door and he hopped all the way round me to get in! After that I gave up and now realise he hides under my bookshelf and takes a regular bath in my dogs' water bowl! Now, I just find it funny and have sent photos of the toad in my dogs water bowl all round the world - he looks so happy! p.s. Yes, I'm v careful to change the water regularly for the sake of my long suffering dogs. Having said that, they prefer the water in my pond anyway!
