HI, guys.. i want to know if there are other universities that easily assist students in getting ED visa.. apart from walen and pro lang.school.

any cheaper schools than these two? less than 20000 baht would be great.

thanks in advance.

UTL was able to, however if you are looking for less than 20k for a year of study etc ... you need to rethink things

We believe 28,400 for 180 lessons is very reasonable plus you will get good service. I had cases where students from other schools were able to get the initial ED visa but were not able to get extensions using the same school as the school was not willing or not able to process the second letter, later coming to us and asking us to sort out the mess, money lost and in the end higher cost too.

As they say you get what you pay for.

Walen School, Mac

Bangkok Grace Polytechnic, Lad Prao 112. B6,000 for 80 hours tuition (1 month, 1 module) and also assist with ED visas.

Google it to get the website.

If you look for the price per hour there are a huge amount of schools that are cheaper than Walen and Pro Language (in fact most school are cheaper than those 2). And what is remarkable is that many of these cheaper schools deliver a lot of students that can pass the P.6 test (which is as I know the only generally recognized test of Thai language for foreigners).

If you're studying to get a visa, you want to pay as little as possible (per year), and study as little as possible (in hours per year), I think Walen and Pro Language are good options.

Most schools offer the same or similar visa service as Walen and Pro Language but they don't use this in their advertisement, and they require you to study more hours per month.

.... it's a bit sad, you want to study Thai... and your biggest concern is:

- it should cost as litlle as possible per year which comes down to studying as little as possible (180h/year).

- you want to get a visa

I wonder how many of the student in those 2 school are really interested in studying Thai.

I am suggesting to get a tourist visa.

I am also suggesting that people that want to study Thai for other purposes than getting a visa, should be aware of the motivation of many of the students that will be joining them at Walen, Pro Language and 8host.

Are you aware that you'll have to pay for 2 extensions on you non-O-ED visa to be able to stay 1 year? Are you aware that you'll also have to pay for your visa? Are you aware that you actually have to go to sit in the classroom?

Hear bloody hear!!!

How many people either currently on an ED visa or interested in getting one, are actually interested in learning Thai? And when I say learning Thai, I mean learning Thai to a pretty proficient level ie being able to communicate using full sentences, correct grammar and with confidence ( and, of course, the odd mistake here and there!!).

It's gonna come crashing down around you all. But don't worry....I'm sure you'll find another loophole to abuse.

It's more than a loophole. Its a pro education policy the government has and the goal is to strengthen the industry because its such an important national resource. Its a lot easier to grow an industry with paying students. It hardly matters that some students are less serious or motivated.

As far as teaching Thai language that would be deemed valuable to the Kingdom to promote Thai culture. Given the world language trends Thailand has to be careful that the language might become less and less relevant world wide.
